Event Details

Silhouettes date back to the 18th century and have been a simple and inexpensive method of portraiture.  Many examples of this can be seen in the NHA collections.  We will provide a variety of animal and object shapes, but you can also bring a picture of your favorite person or pet. Just be sure your photo is a profile and is less than 2.5″ in either direction. 

This event is hosted in collaboration with the Nantucket Historical Association, as part of a crafting event series for teens this spring. We will alternate each week between hosting crafts at the Atheneum and the Whaling Museum. Join us on Wednesdays in March & April to practice print making, making book tins, and more!
