Express yourself through color, pattern, and texture. Fashion designer and educator Jay Calderin introduces the fundamentals of textile/surface design in fashion. After developing original fabric designs he'll show participants how to apply them to their very own fashion sketches.
Beginners are welcome! Participants are asked to bring colored pencils, tracing paper and paper for sketching. Colored markers are also an option
Calderin is Co-Director of Education, Director of Community Relations, and an instructor at the School of Fashion Design in Boston. His work as a fashion designer has graced the pages of Vogue and Elle magazines as well as the New York Times Sunday Style section and been acquired by the Peabody Essex Museum to be exhibited in their Fashion & Design Gallery.
The class is appropriate for teens and adults and limited to 12 people. Free admission, but registration is required.
