With a vision for a Vibrant and Vital Ocean for Future Generations, The New England Aquarium believes that a healthy ocean relies on partnerships. In this lecture, Chief Scientist Dr. John Mandelman will present on how the iconic novel and film JAWS inspired him, and now informs his approach to partnerships and tackling ocean conservation challenges. He will be joined by Senior Scientist and shark expert Dr. Nick Whitney, as well as PhD student Caroline Collatos, in a panel-style discussion with the audience to dig deeper on JAWS, shark conservation and the power of partnerships of all varieties in teaching and driving our collective efforts to more effectively manage and protect our ocean.
