Join us for a celebration of Joseph Luzzi’s two new books, Dante’s Divine Comedy: A Biography (Princeton University Press, Nov. 5, 2024) and his translation of Dante’s Vita Nuova (Norton/Liveright, Dec. 3, 2024)! Professor Luzzi will share reflections about his lifelong journey into the remarkable poetry of Dante Alighieri, considered the “father of the Italian language” and one of the most influential writers in the history of literature. He will also share his thoughts on the “art and craft of translation” and on why Dante’s work remains so beloved worldwide, even thought it first appeared 700 years ago!
