Event Details

Take a time out from the busy-ness of the holiday season and relax as Graeme Durovich on fiddle and Nigel Goss on piano slow the pace down with a collection of airs and waltzes. Rather than a traditional seated concert experience, the audience is invited to relax on rugs, mats, or seated as Graeme and Nigel play a Celtic repertoire that pulls from traditions from Nova Scotia, Scotland, and Ireland.

Nigel Goss worked his first professional gig in a rock band at The Muse when he was 17 years old. He went on to study double bass and bass guitar in the jazz tradition at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA, and now performs regularly, is band director for both Nantucket Music Center and the Unitarian Universalist Meeting, and teaches private music lessons. Nigel can be found in a variety of different settings from jazz to classical to reggae. With the duo, he emulates the traditional Irish sound while bringing jazz and pop influences to his music. He enjoys the rich harmonic possibilities that simple elegant melodies offer, and puts an original touch on the rhythmic and chordal elements of the music.

Graeme Durovich is an expert fiddler who plays from the heart. She learned her tunes on the Nova Scotia music scene, spending many years at festivals and sessions. While studying at Wellesley College, Graeme pursued her passions in viola performance and chamber music studies. She has taught classical violin, viola, and Celtic fiddling for over a decade and joined the Nantucket Community Music Center faculty in 2018. When not playing music, Graeme is the Town of Nantucket’s Recycling/Solid Waste Coordinator.

Free admission, masks required.
