Join us for a free screening of The Endurance: Shackleton’s Legendary Antarctic Expedition, presented in partnership with Egan Maritime Institute. Directed by George Butler, this 2000 documentary uses original footage and interviews with relatives of the crew to tell the true story of Ernest Shackleton's harrowing 1914 Antarctic expedition. When their ship becomes trapped and then crushed by sea ice, Shackleton and his crew must venture hundreds of miles by open boat in search of rescue.
All are welcome to participate in a 15-minute discussion following the film, which is the final feature in Egan's 2025 Shipwreck Showtimes series. For more information about the series, including the full schedule, visit Egan's website at eganmaritime.org.
