Do you have a story to tell? Join Francesca Sobrer for this three-day workshop, where you will have the chance to craft and practice your story and then share it with a live audience in the Great Hall on Friday, February 17th.

DAY #1

In this class, we will go over the basics of storytelling. For clarity I am going to stick to the MOTH Story Style. We will then practice, using provided prompts*, telling two - three minute stories and review how the story comes together (or not!) and what can be done to move/shape the story.

*No one is ever required to use the prompts, they are just there if you want them. While not required, but encouraged, participants can come the first day with a story they want to tell and use the workshop as a means to craft that story.

Francesca Sobrer:  Storyteller, writer, teacher, actor and director, Francesca enjoys working with actors and storytellers to help them develop the story they want to tell. Quite a few of her own stories begin on Nantucket Island where she was raised and where her mother, Margaret Hitchcock, was the original proprietress of Something Natural.  Presently, Sobrer is based in the lovely city of Chicago. She has been published in Chicago Storytellers Press, from Stage to Page, True Stories About Love and recently as co-editor with Liminal Publishing, A POET’S TAROT by Josep Miquel Sobrer (Now available at Barnes and Noble and Amazon.).  She recently wrote and performed the Solo Story, Tidepools for the FilletofSolo Storytelling Festival in Chicago. A four-time MothStorySLAM winner, Sobrer has also told stories for Back Yard Story, This Much is True, Soul Stories, South Specific, Soul Serenade, First Person Live, BackRoom and Homewood Stories. francescasobrer.com
